The latest released Wanderburg hotfix reviewed on October 10 is 0.9.14; the newest official announcement is the September 30 Early Access roadmap. Play with two starting Artifact Rerolls, fixed 25-HP Repair Wrench healing, and seven base Electric Mage targets today. The roadmap sets out future updates, including build variety and an Overtime rework.
September 30 roadmap: what changes next?
Randwerk's Early Access announcement includes a roadmap image. Read both: the image lists the work and release windows more specifically than the announcement text.
| Planned window | Work shown in the roadmap | What to prepare as a player |
|---|---|---|
| Q4 2026: first update | Build synergies and variety, run variety, balance and difficulty improvements, Overtime rework | Save the loadout and ordinary/Overtime result of a familiar run so you can compare it after the update. |
| Q1 2027: second update | New vehicles, levels, modules, Artifacts, and Captains | Review the new options and their unlock tasks when the update arrives. |
| Q2 2027 | Further updates and Full Release shown in the graphic | Treat this as a planning window, then check the developer's later release announcement for a firm date. |
Performance, stability, and quality-of-life work continue alongside these milestones. Q1 2027 is the second content update, not the Full Release window. The roadmap is a rough plan; the Q2 placement is not a fixed launch day. None of these planned changes replaces the live 0.9.14 rules below.
If you are preparing a build now, use the Ram, cannon, and mage loadouts. For an unlock target, use Spiderburg or the Silver purchase plan. Review those choices again when a released patch changes the relevant mechanic.
0.9.14 — September 21
Artifact and build choices. The new second Artifact Reroll is available from the start of a run. It is separate from the 0.9.10 reward of one additional Artifact Reroll per six permanently unlocked Artifacts; Module unlocks award New Module Rerolls instead. Repair Wrench now restores a flat 25 HP, replacing 25% healing. A high-HP sustain plan based on the old percentage needs a fresh test; see Vehicles, Biomes, and Unlocks for the two reroll rules.
Modules and allies. Electric Mage's automatic attack now targets seven enemies at base rather than five, and upgrades add more targets. The patch also improves the reliability of its Roaming Storm effect. Allied units are now immune to fire, stun, and knockback; Randwerk says they were already invincible. This removes those three interruptions, but does not establish a new Barracks damage value or prove that every reported idle summon is fixed. Use Modules to compare the automatic attack and active ability separately.
Achievements and Artifact fixes. Randwerk lists a fix for Welcome to the Desert and a bug fix for Tinderbox, without publishing a new Desert unlock condition or the exact Tinderbox failure mode. The Overworld biome UI skull display was also fixed. If a milestone or Artifact still behaves differently on 0.9.14, record the displayed build, action, and result; the Achievements guide keeps the official fix separate from player reports about All Lands won!.
Bosses and Overtime. Boss fights now zoom the camera out slightly. Some larger enemies no longer take percentage-based damage from boss explosion damage, and Overtime enemies have adjusted stun resistance. These changes may alter a control or boss route even when the loadout is unchanged. The announcement gives no resistance table or exact camera distance, so compare the same encounter before claiming that a specific control build gained or lost a fixed amount.
Performance and stability. The main menu and Overworld now have a 240 FPS limit. Escape-menu interaction, leaderboard loading, and map generation were made more robust. A player whose world generation still stalls should note the exact screen, elapsed time, hardware, and build before using the Performance and Crash Fixes checklist; the patch does not claim that every loading or crash symptom is gone.
0.9.13 — September 19
Hotfix 0.9.13 adds damage numbers, a leaderboard-hide option, longer POI-marker distances, and removes locked module options from the choice display. Use damage numbers for a repeatable comparison; hide the leaderboard if it distracts from a first run or focused check.
The patch improves performance while the game is idle, not every crash, stutter, or Graphics API issue. For a technical problem, update and use Performance and Crash Fixes.
Every boss now drops at least 50 Silver. That is a floor, not a farming route: record boss, build, and reward if it falls below it. Side Arms' base automatic attack also changes from 3.0 to 2.5 seconds; use Modules to judge the loadout gap.
Overtime changed in Grassland, Desert, and Darkforest: Bronze and Silver Mortar plus Golden Metzler were nerfed there, and an Epic Red Overtime Metzler was added. Re-test an old Overtime route before relying on it.
0.9.10 — September 12
Hotfix 0.9.10 fixed a Rare Artifact screen softlock, stopped Electric Mage from stunning allied units, and made Electric Arrow Artifact trigger more reliably. If a current run still shows one of those symptoms, record the displayed build before treating an old report as unresolved.
Back Turret's maximum attack-speed boost was reduced, while Side Arm gained rarity-based damage for both its active and automatic attacks. The player action is specific: re-test a Back Turret setup that depended on its maximum firing rate, and compare both Side Arm modes at the rarity actually offered. See Modules for the maintained change table rather than assuming that every older module conclusion changed at once.
The same hotfix grants one New Module Reroll per six unlocked Modules and one Artifact Reroll per six unlocked Artifacts. It also reduces listed penalties for PatchyThePirate, Kapitalstus Maximus, Huntress, Tankbert, and Duelist. Use Vehicles, Biomes, and Unlocks for the reroll rules and Wanderburg Captains for the confirmed Captain changes and a practical selection checklist.
0.9.9 — September 11
Hotfix 0.9.9 fixed the First Win and All Biomes Won achievement checks, Front Barracks upgrade scaling, Valkyrie and Phoenix Feather interaction, reverse/forward multiplier, special selections, and other named issues. Force Mage can now cancel incoming projectiles; Wizard Crew automatic attacks slow for three seconds. Tower and Spider driving changed, Front Barracks and Side Ballista were rebalanced, allied melee units move faster, Grassland Difficulty 2 became easier, and boss tombstones now drop silver.
0.9.8 and achievement rebalance — September 10
Hotfix 0.9.8 added an alternative controller driving style, delayed Nitro regeneration by 0.5 seconds after boost, iterated on Desert Overtime, changed the Graphics API mode, and published official crash launch options. It also addressed Ram damage, Spider loadout freezing, player HP rounding, and other bugs.
The separate achievement post reduced upper distance, boss, and consumed-unit thresholds while leaving vehicle tiers unchanged. See Achievements for the current 26-item checklist.
0.9.7 — September 9
Hotfix 0.9.7 changed Graphics API priority to improve performance and reduce crashes. It raised Front Barracks active base damage from 200 to 250, improved Top Electric Mage scaling and stun duration, increased Spider movement speed, and fixed boss, Steam initialization, loadout, and Captain text issues.
For release, technical, or first-run questions, use Release & Steam, Performance and Crash Fixes, or the beginner guide rather than treating an old headline as a current instruction.
The gamescom award: what is confirmed
The official September 4 Steam Community announcement records Wanderburg's gamescom “Most Entertaining” award before Early Access. It answers award searches, but not questions about current damage, content, platforms, or a best build.
What 0.9.6 tells us about launch maintenance
The 0.9.6 launch hotfix added Grassland 1 health pickups, changed Grassland 3 and Dark Forest 2/3 enemy composition, adjusted Dark Tower, Top Mortar, Back Turret, Tankbert, and Fire Mage, and fixed Ground Fire performance, wheels, Ram, selection, map-boundary, and FMOD-sound issues. Reproduce a returning issue on the current build with its map and action before reporting it.
